Chapter 5959: A Blind Cat Bumping Into A Dead Mouse

“Times are changing, everything is gone.” Li Qiye commented while gazing at the scenery.

“Resting Bull Mountain needs your love, Young Noble.” Edge Mountain Crone prostrated and said.

He glanced at her before walking away. Incense Daoist and her hurriedly followed behind him, leaving the crowd scratching their head in confusion.

“Are you aware of your sect’s origin?” Li Qiye asked along the way.

“I was told that it came from time immemorial, created by a progenitor.” The old demon pondered for a moment before answering without confidence.

The records were few and potentially inaccurate due to the age of the sect. She possessed the most information currently but only knew bits and pieces regarding the progenitor.

Rumor has it her sect had fragmented once and was revitalized by an emperor.

“As far as I know, we were split once and a great emperor brought us together again.” She said.

“That is correct, a progenitor founded your lineage but it collapsed later with a deactivated dao heart. Elucidation True Emperor was the one who reactivated the dao lineage.” Li Qiye said.

This emperor was once known as Insane Court True Emperor since he was a disciple of the aforementioned dao lineage.

He came across the holy scripture of Resting Bull Progenitor by chance. He was brilliant enough to understand the scripture and reactivated the dao source, giving birth to Resting Bull once more.

Because of this, Resting Bull was immensely close to Insane Court and acted as its staunch supporter.

“I have read this before.” She said.

“Today, it is in decline once more.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Young Noble, we descendants are not worthy, unable to truly learn the legacies of our system. We lost the scripture long ago and couldn’t find it.” She turned red from shame and let out a sigh.

The sect’s decline started with the death of their strongest ancestors. Next, their scripture disappeared as well. At this point, they believed that it was gone forever.

However, another theory stated the scripture might still be on their mountain. It’s just that they couldn’t understand enough dao to find its actual location.

Ancestors including Edge Mountain Crone have searched the area for years only to find zero clues. Therefore, they truly believed the scripture was now lost in the outside world.

“We tried so hard to find it to no avail. We initially had two great treasures, the scripture and a divine beast. Now, we have neither.” She lamented.

“Bi’an.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Wow, you know this too?!” She blurted.

“Yes, left behind by Elucidation.” Li Qiye continued. She had no idea how Li Qiye knew all of their secrets but by this point, it became abundantly clear why the daoist wanted her to greet him.

“Young Noble, please bless us with your guidance.” She prostrated again.

The daoist put up a nauseating act earlier just to help them - a chance to revitalize Resting Bull. He brought the opportunity to their door, the rest was up to them now. Everything became clear - calling Li Qiye a saint from above was not an exaggeration. She was no fool and tried her best to seize this opportunity.

They ascended to the peak and found a statue of a bull. This was one of the symbols of their sect, having been preserved here for eras. The bull was resting, seemingly having taken root to the ground itself.

Li Qiye gently patted the statue before staring at the daoist and saying: “Your sect better treat him well because this opportunity wouldn't be here without him.”

“We are grateful, Daoist.” She bowed several times. This showing of respect was not excessive at all given his contribution.

“You’re overly polite, I just got lucky.” The daoist smiled.

“As if I didn’t know what you were planning.” Li Qiye glared at him.

“Right, it’s all due to your generosity and benevolence, Young Noble.” The daoist turned red. In reality, he certainly played a big role because Li Qiye wouldn’t have visited Resting Bull Mountain otherwise.

“What do you think this mountain resembles?” Li Qiye smiled and pointed at the mountain beneath them.

The two of them didn’t expect this question.

The daoist glanced at the statue and said: “Like a bull?”

“Like a blind cat wanting to bump into a dead mouse.” Li Qiye smiled.
