Chapter 79: 079 Apology?
Miss Na knocked on the door and came in. “Miss Shen, the guests have all arrived. Also, Miss Fu is here.”
Shen Yan withdrew her eyes from the mirror, and tilted her head to look at Miss Na. She raised her eyebrows slightly and asked, “Why is she here?”
Miss Na shook her head and replied, “Miss Fu said that she would only talk after seeing you, so I brought her to the waiting room downstairs.”
A smile appeared on Shen Yan’s face as she put on her makeup methodically. After she had finished tidying up, the corners of her lips curled up as she uttered, “Okay, let’s go and see Miss Fu first.”
She was really curious about what Fu Xiaoxiao wanted to do.
Shen Yan had chartered an entire restaurant for today’s banquet. The banquet hall was on the first floor, while Shen Yan was currently on the sixteenth floor.
Shen Yan took the elevator down with Miss Na. Then, she walked toward the waiting room in her silver-white high heels.
Inside the waiting room.
Fu Xiaoxiao had been here for about twenty minutes. She glanced at her phone in annoyance and looked at the door anxiously.
She, the young miss of the Fu family, had never waited for anyone before in her whole life.
Fu Xiaoxiao thought of what Old Master Fu had said and looked at the gift box beside her. She felt that she was very sincere this time.
The sound of footsteps came from not far away, and she stood up hurriedly. Seeing that it was Miss Na who entered, she frowned slightly. “Where’s Shen Yan?”
Miss Na stood slightly to the side, and Shen Yan walked into the room elegantly.
Fu Xiaoxiao looked at Shen Yan in her gown, and her expression froze. This was her first time looking at Shen Yan objectively, and also her first time realizing that Shen Yan was very good-looking, the kind that people could not take their eyes off from.
“Miss Fu, what brings you here?” Shen Yan looked at Fu Xiaoxiao with a smile. Without waiting for Fu Xiaoxiao to speak, she continued, “Are you here to check my ID card?”
Fu Xiaoxiao’s expression darkened. She hurriedly handed the gift box she had prepared to Shen Yan, murmuring, “Shen Yan, I’m here to apologize. I was insensible before. You don’t have to take it personally.”
“Insensible?” Shen Yan cast a meaningful glance at Fu Xiaoxiao and mocked, “If I remember correctly, you’re one year older than me. How come you’re so ignorant? Hah, you’re even older than me!”
Fu Xiaoxiao felt extremely humiliated by her words.
After Shen Yan said that, she turned around and walked outside. Then, she stepped into the elevator, ready to head to the first floor.
Fu Xiaoxiao came to her senses quickly this time and chased after her angrily. She shrilled, “Shen Yan, how dare you say that I’m old!”
The elevator door closed slowly. No matter how Fu Xiaoxiao pressed the elevator button, it did not open again.
Shen Yan grinned as she thought of Fu Xiaoxiao’s frantic and exasperated look.
The smile on Shen Yan’s face widened when she reached the first floor.
Shen Yan stood up there and said a few words. Afterward, she held a glass of red wine and chatted with the people in the entertainment industry.
“Miss Shen, I hope you can consider our script.”
“Miss Shen, I’ve written a song that I think is perfect for you. I hope we can work together.”
“Miss Shen, I have an endorsement for Chanel perfume. I don’t know if you’re interested.”
…
Shen Yan kept smiling. She was not short of resources now. Moreover, she did not want to deal with those people, so she walked toward the garden with her red wine.
Just then, Shen Yan saw Lin Xing, who was standing not far away.
Lin Xing was dressed in a black evening gown, and her hair was tied up high. She was wearing a diamond-studded crown on top of her head and a ruby necklace around her neck.
Lin Xing was stunned for a moment when she saw Shen Yan. A trace of complexity flashed in her eyes. Finally, she smiled and spoke, “Shen Yan.”
Shen Yan smiled and looked at Lin Xing with a meaningful expression. Lin Xing had been pretending to be sick previously, but now she was behaving normally.
She had to admit that Lin Xing was really good at acting.
