Chapter 270   – Guess his half day off won’t have much to do with romance (3)

This was Yan Shuyu’s first time cohabiting with anyone and she was adjusting well. Mainly because of the people she was cohabiting with. As much as they have simplified as much as they could, it was still a big upgrade in quality of life for Yan Shuyu.

Before she had transmigrated, Yan Shuyu was already a little princess who couldn’t tell vegetables apart at home, but that was nothing compared to how “pampered” she was right now. Afterall, her mother did not cook as good as the boss’s domestic help. Her mom would also boss her around to mop the floor or hang the clothes up to dry when she was in a bad mood. In the Zhou’s, on the other hand, the domestic help would make her anything that she desired to eat or fetch her whatever she wanted. They would not turn down her requests and complain that she was lazy and useless. The boss even said that there were plenty of rooms in the house and if she liked, the domestic helpers could stay there and wait on them 24/7. Meaning, she would be able to eat in the middle of the night she wanted. The idea was fantastic.

Yan Shuyu finally resisted the temptation and declined the offer so as not to let herself fall too deep into this trap.

Had Yan Shuyu wanted to marry into the prominent family like the original owner did, for sure she’d have pretended to be tender, virtuous, and a girl who’d make a good wife. Preferably, she was perfect and the boss would not be able to find any fault with her.

Problem was, she did not want to marry the boss. As such, she has no need to pretend and could just comfortably be her own self.

As such, Yan Shuyu got used to the lifestyle of the wealthy, errr, of cohabitation.Apparently, the boss’s ability to adapt was way above that of Yan Shuyu. He had no qualms about using her as a chauffeur since day one. As the situation of their cohabitation started to settle down, Yan Shuyu, with her relaxing work schedule, had also become the de facto delivery girl when the boss had, on occasion, left some documents at home.

Yan Shuyu’s first assignment came when she was watching a television show at home.

Her work was cozy. The musical institution required neither clocking in nor being presence. The instructors were free to leave if they had no classes. Yan Shuyu lived farther away in the past, so she’d wait around for her son to get off. She no longer needed to do that, so she’d wait at home while she played video games or watched television.

Surely, she had a lot of free time, but she hadn’t expected assignments like that from the boss. She was dazed for a while there. “Me… bring the documents over to you?”

The boss did not acknowledge her question. “Are you busy right now?”

Yan Shuyu put down the sunflower seeds in her hand and explained weakly, “Yeah, but I have never been to your office before. Can you have Secretary Lu or someone else come and pick them up instead?”

“They are all busy. You’ll have to make a trip. I’ll send you the location via WeChat. Just follow the GPS. It’s not that far away.” The boss left no room for her to object. He even added tenderly at the end. “It’s not that urgent. Take your time. Your safety is more important.”

Yan Shuyu felt better when she heard the last thing that he said. At least she was more important than the document in the boss’s eyes. Otherwise, she just might need to throw a fit.

Granted, she figured it out quickly that the boss was for sure surrounded by more than enough workers. He only insisted on her delivering the document because she was there and the most time-consuming way to have it done.

That was to show that her status wasn’t all that high after all. =.=

Yan Shuyu accepted the assignment nevertheless.
