Chapter 101   Have More Money

If the Cheng Family wanted to gain a foothold in the capital, then they obviously needed to expand their sphere of influence. However, this not only invited friends but enemies as well.

?

Being the Young Master of the Cheng Family, he naturally faced his fair share of rivals and enemies. However, he didn’t claim to be a victim in all of this. After all, he wasn’t that much of a good person either.

Naive people don’t live long in the city.

“You know a lot about cars,” he praised.

Yao Tang didn’t say anything else in reply.

However, there was no tension in the car, unlike what had happened back in the Yao Family Household. In fact, it could be seen how relaxed the pair were with each other’s presence.

Yao Tang lazily sat on the chair, swiping away the messages on her phone. Her eyes darted across the screen as her fingers moved up and down. It looked as if she was searching for something

Rows of streetlights flashed past the car window.

The moon shone brightly above them, with the spring night carrying an unexpected chill. She could see a few pedestrians strolling down the sidewalk, clutching their coats as they go. “We’re almost there,” Cheng Yan reluctantly said. After today, he didn’t exactly know when he’d be able to see her again.

He turned his head and sighed.

The girl’s side profile flickered under the moonlight. Her eyes were closed as she rested her head against the seat. She looked far more peaceful than usual as if she had already grown used to his presence.

Her red lips were full and alluring, enough to make anyone want to kiss her.

As if feeling the man’s burning gaze, she opened her eyes and stared right back at him.

“Too distracted?”

The girl’s sudden question instantly sobered him up. He laughed softly, obviously in a good mood.

Within a few more minutes, he had already arrived by the school gate.

“I’ll be heading out now.” Yao Tang pushed the door open without any hesitation, and she took a step outside. However, before she could finally walk away, she could hear him call out to her.

“Wait!”

Cheng Yan had also stepped out of the car. His tall figure was quite eye-catching even from afar. On his hand was a long grey scarf, its soft fabric fluttering with the wind.

He walked towards her and wrapped the scarf around the girl’s neck. There was a strong intent in his gaze as if he were protecting his treasure chest.

Although it was already spring, the nightly breeze still carried a certain chill.

The scarf offered a soft feeling in contrast to the wind’s harsh touch.

Only when he had already wrapped the scarf around her neck did he nod in satisfaction. “Go back quickly,” he stated. “It’s cold at night. You might get sick, okay?”

“Hm.”

The corners of Yao Tang’s lips lifted up into a smile.

After hearing him speak, she strode back up the school gate. Her hair fluttered across the wind, covering the soft scarf that now had been wrapped around her neck.

Not long after, Cheng Yan finally drove away.

However, none of them had noticed Yao Ran and Jiang Huaistanding from a distance, watching their every move. Although he was standing far away, he could recognize the car from thousands of miles away.

The supercar was a collector’s edition. It was priceless, and only people of high status could drive such a car, much less customize it to their wants and needs. He couldn’t help but gape at the sight.

Being a car fanatic, he knew all these brands and customizations like the back of his hand. “Hey, Ranran, wasn’t that Yao Tang just now?”

Was that really her?

But looking at her tall figure and long hair, he couldn’t help but be almost sure that the girl was truly none other than Yao Tang. But hadn’t she come from the countryside before she moved in with the Yao Family?

How could she be involved with someone of that status?

Yao Ran also couldn’t help but gaze in the direction of the luxury car. Her eyes flashed, and her fingernails dug deeper into her palms. Suddenly, a thought flashed at the back of her mind.

Her expression immediately changed, and she hesitated.

“What’s wrong?” Seeing her frown, he tilted his head. “Are you okay?”

Was she keeping a secret for her sister?

Or did she know something he didn’t?

Yao Ran pursed her lips. “You know how my sister had come from a poor family,” she slowly said. “She didn’t want to live in our home, so she moved out. I just didn’t think that…”

“I tried to persuade her…but…she said something about wanting to be independent. She wanted to have more money.”

Jiang Huai furrowed his eyebrows. “What does that have to do with the owner of the

car?”

“It’s nothing-nothing!” Yao Ran took a step back, looking like a cat who had just been electrocuted. “Just don’t tell the others of what had happened, okay? I don’t want any more rumors circulating around about her.”

Without another word, she sprinted away and left Jiang Huai behind.

When she had finally been able to run away, Yao Ran scowled. She really didn’t expect to encounter such a thing when she came out to get the test paper set from Jiang Huai. The heavens really hated her!
